1/22-1/28

This week was such a whirlwind... thus my delay in posting! I just have to say: only one more week of The Game On! Diet! It's been a fun time and I'm loving the results, but I can't wait to eat whatever I want (within reason, of course hehe).

So, I'm really into sabotage with this game. Here are the latest of my trickeries for Hailey and Heather... coupons to yummy food places! :)

RA is demonstrating how incredibly windy it was at HEB one evening. We think we're really funny...

My sweet Amber had ear surgery on Friday. I took a half day from work so I could go pick her up at the vet. This was her on the car ride home... she was very loopy. It almost seemed like she didn't know what was going on. Poor thing. You can see her pink stuffed duck in the background... I brought it for her so she would feel comfy. :)

Now RA is demonstrating her awesome Wii Fit skills! That hula hoop game is a great workout!

Aww precious Cain wishes we wouldn't spend so much time watching The Bachelor. He needs someone to pet him...

So, now that I have to plan to eat unhealthy meals, I find myself documenting them as a way of cherishing the memories of the unhealthy goodness. Here's the latest adventure: shrimp nachos from La Finca. I could barely find the chips because there was so much shrimp! Love it!

Finally getting to hang out with my girls, Catherine and Sammi. Of course, when I move from Cypress to Katy, they decide to build houses in Cypress... typical. ;) ;)
Miss them! It was great getting to hang out, eat at Gringo's (umm hello seafood enchiladas!), play games (Fact or Crap... you'll definitely learn some random, useless trivia playing that one), and generally just enjoying each other's company. :)

1/15-1/21

So, I'm a little delayed in actually posting this. I uploaded the pictures from my phone, and then moved on with life. Oops! Oh well... here we go! [And, I'm pretty sure I don't remember the days that I took these pictures, so we're just gonna roll with it.]

1/17 (?)- Beautiful sunset in my neighborhood!

1/18 (?)-A little "Game On! Diet" trickery/sabotage! I had two of my students who have Hailey and Heather for English be my messengers with these Quizno's coupons. Mwahaha!
[They have major will power, so I'm pretty sure they didn't take the bait. Boo.]

1/15 (?)- Hello, lover.

1/19- Hey look! I do know the date of one of my pictures! Rami hosted bunco at her house and made these dice cheese blocks... so cute! Too bad my diet kept me from partaking in them because they looked super delish!

1/20- Oh man, I'm on a roll with the dates!
I love being pampered! Showing off my shellac manicure by Nancy!

1/21- Rami and I at the Klein Oak High School Math and Science Team competition.
We had a great time, considering we graded tests all day and were with 38 BDJH students. And, to make things even better, we placed 4th overall as a school!! Go Bears!

1/16- Ok, so this might be kind of awkward. But somehow Skittles snuck into my bathroom and climbed on the bathtub while I was in it! I'm really surprised she didn't fall in...

Well, that's all for this... errrr... last week! Hopefully I'll be back on track soon...

1/8-1/14

I make no promises, but I'm quite impressed with myself right now. I have been able to take a picture each day this week! Now, I'm a little frustrated with the Blogger app on my phone (I take my pictures on my iPhone and use the app to upload them to my blog) because it's rearranging the order of the pictures. Not a fan.

I guess I'm just going to have to deal.

1/8- So, I watch The Bachelorette. I admit it. [Hi, my name's Ashley and I'm a Bachelorette-aholic. Hi Ashley.] But because the show is infamous for spending almost half of the episode showing upcoming previews and recapping the previous week's episode, I watch it at my friend's house because she has DVR (yes, I live in the dark ages). This way we can fast forward through all that mess. Her husband likes to call the show "smut" (even though he watches it too. Hee he he), and we now call our viewing of it "smut time." I am not ashamed.
So, I was at Barnes & Noble last weekend and saw this book and laughed out loud. :)

1/13- I've started The Game On! Diet with my roommate Ruth Ann, my friend Hailey, and another coworker. I've now entered the world of organic/all-natural protein bars. When I first went to the grocery store with RA and we stood in the food bar aisle like lost puppies, I was kind of afraid that they would be gross after all of the ingredient label reading we did. But this past week, we found our favorites and went back to HEB to stock up! (I recommend the Clif Builder's all natural bars and the Think Thin organic protein bars.)

1/10- A little friendly banter never hurt anyone. This is courtesy of Hailey on my classroom white board. It got all of my kids wondering. Now, I have inside spies who are willing to get in on the banter. :) Look out!

1/9- This is part one of four of my grocery store shopping list for the Game On! Diet. You must have a serving of protein, carbs, and a healthy fat with eat meal. A scattering of veggies with at least 2 meals a day is also required. (Oh yeah, and no snacking. Barf.)

1/11- Skittles says, "Get out of my face, crazy lady!" (In her British accent, of course.)

1/12- I snapped this photo to send to RA (gotta get those communication points) so we could document the good protein bars, and also the ones we should never buy again. Like I said earlier, this is a good'un.

1/14- Man, what a pretty day it is today. RA and I couldn't resist feeding the ducks in my neighborhood lake. Poor duckies. It was quite windy while we were out there, and we were standing upwind. So they were struggling to swim against the current to get to the yummy pieces of bread we were chunking at them. :)

1/1-1/7

I've known several people who have done a photo a day project and said it was really fun. So, for this year's New Year's resolution (along with a few others, secretly) I've decided to undertake a photo project of my own. Now, I already know I'm not disciplined enough to post a blog daily (I've tried and failed at that too many times to count), so I told myself that a weekly post would suffice.

Also, I know I'm too lazy to upload pictures from my camera... That whole process makes me cringe, for whatever reason. So, I'll be doing everything from my iPhone (should be interesting).

Here goes nothing! (I already know these photos are going to post out of order...awesome.)

1/4- on my first day back at school with my students, we looked out the window and saw this hot air balloon! I raced outside to take this photo, and prayed that they would let me back in.

1/3- CPS clicker at my staff development meeting. Think: America's Funniest Home Videos, where the audience gets to vote in the end.

1/6- me visiting Sammi!

1/7- one of my purchases from The Container Store... So exciting! It keeps my ribbon organized.

1/5- oh, lovely roomie. Could not for the life of her punch the correct time in the microwave for her dinner. I still live her anyway. :)

1/1- New Year's Day champagne with the family.

1/2- Skip Bo fun!
