1/8-1/14

I make no promises, but I'm quite impressed with myself right now. I have been able to take a picture each day this week! Now, I'm a little frustrated with the Blogger app on my phone (I take my pictures on my iPhone and use the app to upload them to my blog) because it's rearranging the order of the pictures. Not a fan.

I guess I'm just going to have to deal.

1/8- So, I watch The Bachelorette. I admit it. [Hi, my name's Ashley and I'm a Bachelorette-aholic. Hi Ashley.] But because the show is infamous for spending almost half of the episode showing upcoming previews and recapping the previous week's episode, I watch it at my friend's house because she has DVR (yes, I live in the dark ages). This way we can fast forward through all that mess. Her husband likes to call the show "smut" (even though he watches it too. Hee he he), and we now call our viewing of it "smut time." I am not ashamed.
So, I was at Barnes & Noble last weekend and saw this book and laughed out loud. :)

1/13- I've started The Game On! Diet with my roommate Ruth Ann, my friend Hailey, and another coworker. I've now entered the world of organic/all-natural protein bars. When I first went to the grocery store with RA and we stood in the food bar aisle like lost puppies, I was kind of afraid that they would be gross after all of the ingredient label reading we did. But this past week, we found our favorites and went back to HEB to stock up! (I recommend the Clif Builder's all natural bars and the Think Thin organic protein bars.)

1/10- A little friendly banter never hurt anyone. This is courtesy of Hailey on my classroom white board. It got all of my kids wondering. Now, I have inside spies who are willing to get in on the banter. :) Look out!

1/9- This is part one of four of my grocery store shopping list for the Game On! Diet. You must have a serving of protein, carbs, and a healthy fat with eat meal. A scattering of veggies with at least 2 meals a day is also required. (Oh yeah, and no snacking. Barf.)

1/11- Skittles says, "Get out of my face, crazy lady!" (In her British accent, of course.)

1/12- I snapped this photo to send to RA (gotta get those communication points) so we could document the good protein bars, and also the ones we should never buy again. Like I said earlier, this is a good'un.

1/14- Man, what a pretty day it is today. RA and I couldn't resist feeding the ducks in my neighborhood lake. Poor duckies. It was quite windy while we were out there, and we were standing upwind. So they were struggling to swim against the current to get to the yummy pieces of bread we were chunking at them. :)
